Skytanking’s primary business is aviation services, including ground handling, aircraft fuelling, aviation fuel storage and hydrant management, investment in aviation fuel facilities at airports, and engineering services in support of its airline, airport and oil company customers.

Role in the project

Goals

The project will serve as a comprehensive live demonstrator for the national and international network of aircraft refuelling operators using a 100% electric vehicle in the 40KL Refueller category. In addition, the transferability of the results to other airports will be discussed and promoted. An understanding and solution proposals for the current gaps in regulation as well as in the areas of financing, operation and safety will be developed.

Tasks

Procurement:

• Available certificates for operation in the special ADR context based on EN-12312-5:2021.
• Operational requirements in accordance with JIG 13

Commissioning and training:

• Identification of training gaps compared to diesel vehicles
• Definition of training strategies and special requirements (e.g. high-voltage training for operators)
• Safety plans for general operations in coordination with the airport fire brigade

Operation:

• Adjustment of normal operation + recording and comparison of performance
• Definition of safety operation and possible restrictions.
• Definition of JIG and chassis maintenance tasks.
• Assessment of potential risks associated with normal maintenance JIG and without JIG
• Conducting workshops and assessment of continuous performance and reliability
• Procedures for data collection and continuous assessment
• Defining and designing the right charging strategies (collaboration with ISEA)

100 % electric demonstrator:

• Identification of normative gaps for N3-Vehicles Electric
• The environmental impact and costs of the implemented measures will also be evaluated
• Transferability to other airports
• Transferability to other areas of application
